This study aims to investigate the effects of job factors and demographical factors on job satisfaction of care workers who are working in elderly care facilities. has been implemented for a short period of time. According to the results of the multiple regression analysis that examined the effects of job factors and demographical factors on job satisfaction of care workers for the elderly, education and monthly income among demographical factors have significant effects on job satisfaction of care workers for the elderly. The higher educational level have a negative effect on their job satisfaction, and that higher monthly income have a positive effect on them. Their positive perception of the pay system, the welfare environment of workplace, and the job expertise among job factors have positive significant effects2) on their job satisfaction. In order to raise the level of job satisfaction that is a preliminary task for improving job performance of care workers for the elderly, this study proposes ways to establish the reasonable benefits system, to set up a job educational system that can supplement their job expertise, and to improve the welfare environment of workplace in relation to the current job where the care workers for the elderly are working.

This study investigates the wage perception of employees working at social welfare facilities in Daegu and the actual condition of wages by facility type, work type, and job position. The purpose of the study is to identify facilities with relatively poor wages and to propose supplementary measures for the treatment of workers. It is also decided to draw up a phased implementation plan for improving the wage system and establish guidelines for reasonable wages and treatment of workers at social welfare facilities. The results of this study are as follows: More support for separation of labor and operating expenses is required for comprehensive subsidy support facilities. It is urgent to introduce a salary step system for facilities. Single payment system should be implemented to reduce gaps between facilities and to prepare the compensation criteria. A payment system similar to civil servants wage level should be established.

This study aims to gain insight into the perception of positive aging through lifelong learning by older people. The survey targets senior citizens aged 60 years and over who live in Daegu and Gyeongbuk province, and the survey method is analyzed through simple surveys and in-depth interviews in 4 groups. Described The process of categorizing concepts derived from the collected data drew awareness of positive aging among older learners. First, those surveyed were practicing self-realization through lifelong learning, such as active life, confident life, and positive self-realization. They also found that they were participating in lifelong education as a constant desire to learn for their health and to relieve physical, psychological, and stress from aging. Second, older students have a sense of belonging to the study club and participate in lifelong education through voluntary social service through the formation of a natural interpersonal relationship. Third, advanced learners through learning actively participated in lifelong learning even in order to pursue physical, psychological, and social health. Fourth, advanced learners have learned from lifelong learning that positive perceptions of aging, such as productive aging, successful aging, active aging and happy aging, have been important factors. Therefore, in-depth interviews were able to derive factors that could be recognized as positive aging. Meanwhile, the rapid transition to an aged society has led to negative aspects of facilities and program support that fall short of the lifelong learning needs of older people.

This study aims to accelerate the necessity of medical welfare technology and fused thinking while looking over the use of Artificial Intelligence(AI) for experts of the field of health and welfare for the elderly to support the needs and problem solving of the elderly in super-aged society. To this purpose, this study collects the social surveys from the existing statistical offices, research materials, online materials, press releases and articles including overseas data. And this study firstly investigate definitions of artificial intelligence, types of artificial intelligence, and academic sources of artificial intelligence. Second, this study extracts thirty three articles by searching the database of the elderly and artificial intelligence from Research Information Sharing Service(RISS), and uses as oral sources of this study by analyzing the practically relevant data.
This paper explores the perception of elderly people with dementia who have refused to use care facilities for the elderly and how disagreement among family members occurs in the process of persuading elderly people with dementia. to use care facilities for the elderly by persuading them. By identifying the rejection of demented elderly to use care facilities for the elderly and by diagnosing the disagreement among the family members of the demented elderly, this paper proposes to extend the social welfare support from the time of the onset of dementia to the stage of using care facilities for the elderly, just as social welfare support measures would be implemented for the improvement of facility satisfaction and service quality after demented elderly people use care facilities for the elderly.

The purpose of this study is to propose the professional competences of experts in the field of dementia and care management specialists for the successful support of social welfare policies for the elderly and the disabled in Korea. For this purpose, this study conducts the literature review and expert review of this field, and then proposes professional competences required for the training of dementia and care management specialists. Specifically, the professional skills include basic dementia and care management(10 items), initial consultation(9 items), care planning(8 items), service planning·operation·management(7 items), service(program) evaluation(4 items), education and training(4 items), business planning and management (4 items).
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of leisure commitment on the relationship between health promoting behaviors of older women and the meaning in their life. A total of 285 questionnaires were administered to 320 older women. The results of this study were as follows. First, there was a strong positive correlation between the health promotion behavior, the commitment to leisure, and the meaning in life of older women. Second, the health promoting behaviors of older women influenced their commitment to leisure, and these two variables have also effects on their meaning of life. Finally, the commitment to leisure of older women has a mediating effect on the meaning of their life.
This quantitative study examines the differences in patient safety culture perceptions by the characteristics related to occupational and safety education of elderly care workers. The subjects of this study were 334 workers employed in eight elderly care facilities located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. The results of this study show that there was a statistically significant difference of patient safety culture perception in variables of managerial leadership, job attitude, organizational system, and management activities of work type among occupational characteristics. According to the results of the characteristics of safety education, there were statistically significant differences of patient safety culture perception in managerial leadership, job attitude, management activity areas in the safety education cycle for the last 1 year; in managerial leadership and management activities areas in the required safety education; in management activities areas in the accident reporting experience in the last 1 year; in the managerial leadership, job attitude, organizational system, and management activity areas in the overall evaluation of safety management.

The purpose of this study is to explore the social welfare implications of the learning experiences and learning activities of two elderly learners who are continuing their learning activities at regular universities. The results of study are as follows. First, the past learning experiences of the elderly learners were determined according to the economic situation of the family, and they regarded the schooling as the responsibility of the family and academic achievement as means of success and social status. And the current learning activities were perceived as a challenge to dreams that have not been achieved in the past. Second, the elderly learners perceived that their learning activities were able to form new relationships that excluded their interests through the learning activities of the old age, to contribute to the society through what they have professionally learned, to prepare for a new life. Third, the social welfare implications of the elderly learning activities are that they can expand their social network, secure the emotional support system, and help the mental health of old age. This can be interpreted as a preparation for economic activity after retirement, and as a necessary action for individual growth and a happy life. The learning for the elderly will have the meaning to provide the elderly with an opportunity to develop their own abilities and to expand their existing knowledge to contribute to society.
This study intends to identify the problems of care burden and conflict within the family with the demented elderly and to analyze the perception and experience of the family members, and to suggest medical welfare measures. For this, this study attempts to qualitatively analyze two family cases who have experienced changes in family functioning and conflict in care for their demented parents. The analysis of two family cases shows the following findings. The roles of family members about the care for demented parents is distributed on the basis of practicaily of their situation and position, not on traditional Confucian values and practices. And the care problem of demented elderly should be solved by the establishment of realistic measures considering the current family type and social role status of women, not by replacing it with internal matter of the family or not by emphasizing traditional Confucian values and practices to the members of society.
